Introduction. The important question on building moral values formation of an adult is highlighted in the paper. According to the author, the education is considered to be the most influential component regarding this issue. The modern strategic doctrines of the most countriesleaders of the world are grounded on the principles of developing the human potential. The role of education is constantly increasing and becoming dominant in all areas of public life. The crisis in the consciousness of modern young people, the transformations that take place in the system of moral values and guidelines, the growth of criminal activity and various forms of destructive behavior are all evidence of the need for consistent state education policy. The moral development of young people in the classroom is carried out through the program content, didactic materials and well-structured lessons. However, the personality of a teacher has the greatest impact on the students’ moral development in the learning process. The students should be bearers of spiritual values to be able to trust a teacher.

Results. According to the author, the education system should prepare people for taking responsible decisions and anticipating the consequences both for their own life and for the society as a whole. In the context of reforming higher education, it is important to prepare students for the realities of life, which means revising and updating the educational plans and programs with the humanistic attitude towards students and their personality development to become dominating.

Conclusion. Thus, it is stated that a personality development with its inner world is impossible without moral consciousness and humanism of each individual. The problem of moral values is a matter for the entire society. And the entire society should be involved in solving this problem as far as it concerns our future.
