Evolution of some basic concepts of university education (second half of XX – beginning of XXI century)

Анотація

 This paper presents the interpretations of concepts such as education and university represented in dictionaries, encyclopedias and glossaries, some legal documents, etc., on the basis of which the author presents the concept of understanding the nature of university education late 70’s – early 90-ies of XX century, the end twentieth century and early twentyfirst century. It is emphasized that the interpretation of basic concepts change, correlating of sociopolitical, economic, educational and amendments into account advances in science, engineering, technology, reproduces and displays the intellectual life of the nation and the country. University education at this stage we understand as a whole, and polimeaning multifunctional structure that provides for its implementation mainly type of institution of higher education – the University, a leading intellectual center of society and the principles of autonomy, academic freedom provides education, research, innovation; implements the mission, vision, goals, objectives and functions of higher education, particularly human made, technological and humanistic. Interpretation of basic essential concepts that are inseparable components of university education is within objectively analyzing aspects of university education in terms of its development.
