Volunteering as a condition of professional and communicative competence formation of future social workers

Introduction. The article deals with the problem of professional and communicative competence formation of future social workers in the volunteering.
Purpose. The purpose of the article is to study the volunteering as a factor in the formation of professional and communicative competence of future social workers.
Methods. In the process of studying the following methods were used: analysis of scientific and pedagogical literature; comparison, generalization and systematization; pedagogical supervision; conversation.
Results. In the result of the study, it was found that training of future social workers for volunteering at higher education establishments is carried out during the volunteering practice and through extracurricular activity. The basic forms and methods of future social workers in volunteering training at higher education establishments that influence the formation of professional and
communicative competence were specified, namely: lecture, workshop, socio-psychological training, conferences, «round table», talks, business game, «brainstorming», discussion (debate). It was found that the ability to establish communicative interaction with people in volunteering and the process of
providing charitable assistance itself is carried out through existing communicative and professional knowledge and skills, which are improved in the process of volunteering. The main areas of volunteering of future social workers at Bohdan Khmelnytsky National University at Cherkasy
(organization of concerts for children in orphanages and rehabilitation centers, participating in charitable events that are aimed at collection of funds for wounded soldiers, aid to elderly people) were specified and their impact on the professional and communicative competence of students was analyzed.
Originality. The process of professional and communicative competence of future social workers formation in volunteering was analyzed for the first time.
Conclusion. In the result of the research we can say that volunteering contributes to self-realization, successful socialization of future social workers, helping to develop their professional and communicative skills, leading to the formation of professional and communicative competence of students.
