Socio-pedagogical conditions of media literacy formation of future social teachers

Introduction. The modern stage of socio-cultural development of Ukraine is characterized reforms in all spheres of vital functions of man, including an educational sphere. In this connection, professional training of social teachers activity of which is directed on creation of optimum terms in relation to socialization of personality and warning of displays of the negative phenomena in child's and youth environment needs in considerable changes.

In terms of information space of the future social teachers should possess the ability to use media as a source of self-education and professional development; familiarize with the media streams; critically analyze information of mass media; understand socio-cultural context of the mass media functioning. All definitions require from problem solving of formation of future social teachers’ media literacy in the course of their professional training.

Purpose. To identify and study the socio-pedagogical conditions of formation of future socialteachers’ media literacy during professional training.

Results. The base for finding out of essence and structure of concept «media literacy» was become by researches which understand it as: to analyse ability, to realize, to estimate, to interpret, to create and use the different types of media texts in professional and personality life; a result of education, education of young people and mastering of knowledge, is about medias; as the formed quality of personality and necessary condition for perfection of creative and professional activity and result of awareness of social role of mass-media.

Taking into account different interpretations of term «media literacy», determination of concept «media literacy of future social teachers» is offered as a result of systematic and purposeful media education, which is characterized a capture knowledge in the field of mass-media, by abilities and skills to analyse, to estimate and use medias in socio-pedagogical activity and determine influence of different mass-media on socialization of personality.

The criteria of media literacy of future social teachers and proper indexes is: motivational the index of which is formed of cognitive reasons of contacts from medias and orientation on active co-operation from medias; cognitive that foresees formed and the special media knowledge; operation, that is characterized formed of media abilities and media skills of analysis, evaluation, interpretation of media phototypographs use of forms and methods of media education; creative that certifies a capacity for the independent and creative use of medias in personality and professional spheres. Depending on the display of aggregate of certain indexes the formed of media literacy of students is differentiated after high, middle and low levels.

Originality. Social-pedagogical conditions of the process was theoretically grounded (addition of professional disciplines complement with the media educational training material, the targeted use of forms and methods of media education in the professional training, self-education in the media); it’s specified the concept “future socialteachers’ media literacy".

Conclusion. As a result of control experiment for students the increase of volume of media knowledge is fixed, especially on questions history of development and features of functioning of mass-media and consequences of their influence on socialization of personality that witnessed efficiency of socio-pedagogical terms of formation of media literacy of future social teachers.

Introduction of forms and methods of media education allowed: to form in students the ability to analyse critically, to interpret, to estimate information and create media texts; to perfect skills of the independent and creative use of medias in educational and future professional activity.

By a prospect for subsequent researches can become: question of development of pschycho-pedagogical and technical aspects of media literacy of future social teachers in relation to work with the concrete group of clients, study of oversea experience of organization of media education and training of media teachers, and also possibilities of adaptation of its experience in Ukraine.
